performance art definition

Performance art allows each individual to interpret art any way they choose. Art can be anything you want and there is no wrong or right way to create. Performance art lets people be as expressive as they want in any way shape or form. It can be dance, poetry, music, performance, paintings, sculptures, graffiti, everyday stuff turned into artwork, etc, there are infinite ways to express yourself and to create art. Performance art brings everyone together because it is unique and people can talk about each interpretation and what emotions arise when they look at it and everyone will have different opinions and responses. Dance is my favorite performance art because I feel most connected to the emotions that pour out of each performance. There are so many genres and I resonate most with hip hop because I love the beat of music and watching street performers feel the beat and move with the music. The flows are every upbeat and satisfying when the performer hits every beat. Performance art not only allows performers to express themselves however they want, but also lets the audience or viewer interpret however they like.
