Native American to Hagia Sophia

Native Americans created many revolutionary inventions as big as community homes which could be built very quickly and housed an entire tribe to something as small as canoes for fishing. Their inventions helped shape society today. When Christopher Columbus arrived in America and met the Native Americans they taught him their ways of living and introduced him to their crops and weapons. They were very innovative and utilized their surroundings and survived off that land around them. The had many different types of homes they built. One that took a short time to make and was easy to build if they were staying in the same place for a couple of months was Wigwam's because they provided shelter for each family and would last the time they needed and when they left it wouldn't hurt the area because they only used nature to build these homes. Another shelter was longhouses. These took longer to make because they would sleep up to sixty people and were very large. They also provided shelter for people over a longer period of time if they were planning on staying in the area for a while. The inventions of Native Americans helped aid the Byzantine Hagia Sophia especially by utilizing Native art techniques like mosaics which are very abundant throughout Hagia Sophia. The way the structure was built is also similar to Native groups because they used only materials straight from nature to build Hagia Sophia. Hagia Sophia also became the center for religion and brought all religions together which was very rare. It was also a symbol of peace and became a place many scholars traveled to to learn about religion, to visit and to study. Today it is a museum and people still visit from all around the world to experience the history and religion that radiates off of Hagia Sophia.
